The house
In the heart of the vineyards, near to UNESCO World Heritage sites (historic vineyards, Avenue de Champagne, cellars and Champagne houses in Épernay, etc.), we will welcome you with pleasure in our character house made of millstone, typical of the Champagne region. Located in Avenay Val d’Or, on the Champagne tourist road , Terres Jaunes is in the heart of an authentic village of the regional park of the Montagne de Reims open to nature.
Completely renovated, our house has a terrace overlooking the garden. Start the day with breakfast on the terrace, taking in the charm of the hillsides bordering the village.

Equipped with Queen-size double beds, each of our rooms has its own bathroom with shower and private toilet. Completely renovated and bright, our modern rooms with their elegant honey-coloured parquet floors, retain a touch of authenticity thanks to their original marble fireplaces, and offer you the utmost comfort for cosy nights in the Champagne region.
THE COTEAUX ROOM
This room has a spacious bathroom from which you can admire the vineyards cascading through the village.
An armchair and bench are available. Private shower, washbasin and WC.

THE VIGNE ET FORÊT ROOM
This room invites you to discover the vineyards crowned with woods overlooking the village.

The village
Avenay Val d’Or, whose slopes are covered with vineyards and whose heights are crowned with woods, is watered by “La Livre” and can boast of a 12th century church classified as a Historic Monument and a wash-house dating from 1876. On the Place d’Armes, you will find a wine press dating from 1900.
Planted mainly with the Pinot Noir grape variety, the village is home to no less than twenty or so winegrowers who will help you discover their premier cru champagne from their terroir. Our village also has a grocer, a butcher (who sells bread) and a bar.
Crossed by the Bubbles line, which links Épernay to Reims, our village has a small station that allows travellers to visit by train these two Champagne capitals, while discovering the magnificent landscapes that are emblematic of the region. We are only 1h30 from Paris by train (TER to Avenay Val d’Or). Avenay Val d’Or is also the starting point for many walks, bike rides and car rides.
Who am I?
Settled in the region since 2008 with my husband and four children (now away from the family nest), I have chosen to open the doors of my house and become a host by making 4 rooms available to you.
In this house located in the heart of the Champagne vineyard, I wish to make you discover the local soil and its particularities by sharing my knowledge about THE Champagne wine and THE champagne region. My husband, Philippe, and myself Valérie, welcome you with the greatest pleasure. We can recommend you the specialities of the region and many addresses to discover the richness of our local heritage. Perhaps you will have the opportunity to meet the cat of the house! (this is why we cannot accept your animals) Please note that we can exchange in French, English and Spanish with you.
It is with great enthusiasm that I will share with you the anecdotes and my knowledge about the village and its surroundings. If you would like to experience a guided tour of the village and enjoy the landscape and the unique atmosphere of the surrounding vineyards, a walking tour is also available for you. We propose to lead you, from the house, on a commented walk in the nearby vineyard. Equip yourself with your walking shoes and let your hosts guide you in a unique walk through the authentic and characteristic landscapes of the Champagne region.
1 or 2 hours depending on your availability

Avenay station is at 5-minutes walk from the house, on the Bulles line (Epernay – Reims).
